TRAPPER 300

The Trapper 300 was designed as a fast cruising yacht by Bruce Kirby of ‘Laser’ fame. To date over 100 have been built and can be seen sailing, not only in Europe, but also in Hong Kong, the U.S.A. and even behind the Iron Curtain.

Her fine lines attract the yachtsman who appreciates the best in modern design for she is without doubt a beautiful yacht, yet her sleek looks belie her spacious accommodation, with standing headroom for most people.

HULL

The hull and deck mouldings are constructed of glass reinforced polyester, hand laid by our Moulding Division and consist of woven rovings and chopped fibre-glass mat incorporating high grade marine polyester resin calculated to give the best strength/weight ratio. The standard colour is white, but a coloured stripe can be moulded in as an extra. The underwater surfaces are painted with a high quality anti-fouling.

DECK AND
COACHROOF

The deck and coachroof is reinforced with balsa core and plywood stiffening, and incorporates a moulded non-slip finish, a bow anchor well and deep cockpit locker for sails or dinghy. Other features include gas bottle stowage with drain, self draining cockpit and translucent flush fitting forehatch.

KEEL (Fin)

2028 lbs. (920 kgs.) cast iron through bolted to the hull with 20 mm diameter stainless steel (SIS) studs and plates. A special lead keel can be supplied as an extra.

RUDDER

INTERIOR

The accommodation is based on two fibreglass modules which are bonded to the hull for massive strength. A headliner forming a double skin is fitted throughout to resist condensation and noise.

The forward cabin has a double berth with stowage beneath and shelves port and starboard. The heads area can be completely enclosed with the marine toilet and wet hanging locker to starboard, dry hanging locker to port.

The saloon has a dinette to starboard with ample deep bins and lockers for stowage.

To port, the galley includes a deep sink, gimballed gas cooker with grill, extensive working surfaces, cupboards, cutlery drawer and large lockers, including a waste disposal bin. A deck mounted flexible ventilator is installed overhead. An ice box is located under the quarter berth.

The navigator enjoys a permanent chart table which includes chart stowage below, and ample space for instrument mounting and navigation equipment.
